About Paula Bruno

Paula Bruno is an expert on and private equity investor in women’s and girl’s economic empowerment. As the founder and CEO of Chicks and Balances, she blogs and writes at some of the top publications about financial empowerment and offers educational workshops for both individuals and organizations. Her dream is to make understanding finances easy and fun for busy women and their families.

Ms. Bruno has over a decade of business experience. In 1996, she cofounded United Rentals, Inc., the world’s largest equipment rental company. She specialized in mergers and aquisitions, strategic planning, financial and risk analysis and public relations. Ms. Bruno holds a BS degree from Le Moyne College and an MBA from Syracuse University in finance and accounting, graduating summa cum laude.

Ms. Bruno currently works with various nonprofits and women’s advocacy organizations. She is the Managing Director of Golden Seeds, an organization that helps women entrepreneurs and investors to achieve business and financial success, and a consultant with the National Council for Research on Women. She also sits on the board of the Women’s Business Development Center. Ms. Bruno lives with her husband and two amazing daughters in New Canaan, Connecticut.
